Geer Park, City of Salem
An Urban Oasis: Geer Community Park
After Salem residents approved a $300 million bond in November of 2022, the city is moving forward with the first of many voter-approved projects: upgrading Geer Community Park.
Lacking the internal resources to manage the project themselves, the City of Salem ran a competitive bid process for staff augmentation and engineering services. With our proven track record in publicly funded projects and extensive local network, Klosh Group was selected for the work through a competitive bid process.

Room for improvement
The 46-acre park currently features walking paths, a bike track, and sports fields, and still has plenty of space for additional development. In the first phase of the project, the team is conducting procurement planning to build a new skate park and upgrade sports fields. In later phases, we’ll be adding a picnic shelter, dog park, and additional paths to connect existing facilities.
An extension of our client
In our agreement with the City of Salem, we have assigned a dedicated Project Manager to the City’s construction team —and just like any other employee, they’re accountable to taxpayers and represent the city in the best possible light. This higher level of embedded service ensures a seamless project management experience and allows us to mobilize quickly on the city’s behalf.
What’s more, our hands-on partnership allows Salem’s Public Works staff to focus on other important civic matters while we advance their vision of a safer, more livable city. With our local presence, we take pride in helping them improve their community and are driven by our shared desire to help make our state capital an even better place.
