In the case of Providence, the organization has multiple acute care hospitals, clinics and medical office buildings in Oregon. Many of these facilities are aging; all of them need regular maintenance and repairs to keep them operating in peak form. However, Providence’s in-house design and construction team simply doesn’t have the bandwidth to manage all the work that needs to be addressed.

With our longstanding partnership, Providence knew they could trust us to efficiently handle both large and small-scale projects. So for the past three years, Klosh Group has been their go-to when it comes to providing high-quality management of even the most minor projects.

Ready and willing

With so many properties under the Providence umbrella, we can—and usually do—have a number of active projects running at the same time. We might be replacing a roof in one building, repairing an HVAC system in another, and installing medical equipment in a third. But whatever the need, we’re available and ready to run the project at any given time.

On each project, our process begins by assessing the need, building a cost estimate and pulling together the right vendors from our extensive local network. We also handle all the documentation, contracts and permitting in full alignment with Providence’s established standards. This ability to work as a seamless extension of the Providence team saves them significant time and allows them to focus on larger projects within their acute hospitals.

Protecting what matters most

While aspects of each project differ, one thing doesn’t: the need to protect Providence’s patients and caregivers. Our team takes every precaution to isolate construction spaces and protect building occupants. Some of these best practices include risk assessments, interim life safety measures, contaminant control procedures, and noise-reducing technology.

This patient-centered approach allows us to ensure that every project is conducted in a safe, clean, and non-disruptive manner. And our deep knowledge of complex Department of Health standards and requirements ensure that the contractors we work with maintain compliance every step of the way.

The ongoing nature of this engagement means that we never know exactly how or when we’ll be needed. However, we know that every small project we complete gives Providence more time to do what they do best: provide world-class health care in the communities we call home.
